A Note from the Director

The Addams Family isn’t a story about fitting in, it’s a celebration of those who embrace standing out.

At its heart, this show reminds us that there is no single definition of “normal.” It’s about individuality, acceptance, and loving people exactly as they are. That’s what makes this story resonate far beyond the comedy.

As you prepare your audition, remember that these characters are real people with real relationships, fears, and dreams. Resist the temptation to play them completely deadpan or turn them into caricatures. They love, grieve, celebrate, argue, and dream just like everyone else…they simply do it in ways audiences may not expect!  Ground choices in truth, humanity, and genuine connection, and the comedy will take care of itself.

Bring your creativity, your individuality, and your willingness to play. We can’t wait to see your take on this wonderfully strange family!

ABOUT THE SHOW

Where every family is a little strange... and every audience leaves smiling.

Everyone's favorite delightfully eccentric family is back—but not in the story you may be expecting!

Based on the hit Broadway musical (not the classic television series or films), The Addams Family introduces an all-new adventure centered around Wednesday Addams, who has grown up and fallen in love with a bright, charming young man from a perfectly "normal" family. As the two families gather for one unforgettable evening, secrets are revealed, expectations are challenged, and hilarity ensues.

Filled with witty humor, unforgettable songs, lively dancing, and lovable characters, this musical celebrates the idea that every family is wonderfully unique. Beneath its spooky charm and gothic style is a heartwarming story about love, acceptance, growing up, and embracing what makes each of us different.

Arts One Presents is thrilled to present a family-friendly production that captures all the quirky fun audiences expect from the Addams Family while making the experience welcoming and enjoyable for theatergoers of all ages. Whether you're a lifelong fan or meeting the Addams family for the first time, you'll discover a musical that's full of laughter, heart, and just the right touch of mystery.

Come snap your fingers and join us for a delightfully unforgettable evening!
